woman is a pagan
Annette Marie Hyder

object of wonder
the magical influence
of a star

wish on her body/person
put her on a pedestal
perched up high —
pin her to the sky

but she is always ready
to fling herself down
in crashing, shooting glory
the fire of a sun
informs her nature
she shines

what is woman’s intuition
but the incense smoke
of starlit insight
what does a woman want
but stardust and influence —
to exercise her nature

she personifies venus
she leans over mars, sinking
but she is also
always rising
