Changing popular culture perceptions: one face and one voice at a time

The Facing Feminism: Feminists I Know project is part of the Saint Paul Fall Art Crawl 2012 and will be at the Lab At The Lyric, Friday and Saturday, Oct 12 and 13, 2012

Attendees of the Faces Along the Corridor exhibit of this project will have the opportunity to participate at the event, which will be photographed by Jasmine Rain Hyder.
JoAnne Makela’s musical/spoken word group MedusaHead will perform on Friday
night, Oct. 12, 7:30-9:30. Guest performers Sarah Newberry, Pam Roth,
Annaliese Sweitzer, and Donald Washington will infuse MedusaHead’s
soulful standards with jazz sax and a bit of sweet twang.

If you cannot be there in person, you can still
participate by joining the Facing Feminism project. Submit a jpg of
yourself and a personal statement about feminism [what the word means to
you, how it has affected your life] and you may appear in this
weekend’s slide show, or be featured on the Facing Feminism project
website. Send your image and statement to: annette.hyder[at]gmail.
com. You can see examples of the exhibit pieces on the project Facebook page or at
