It’s a Sunshine-on-a-stick Kind of Day

By Annette Marie Hyder

I see it everywhere I go this afternoon,
thick golden sunshine
twirled on the branches of trees,
served up on one of the last days of summer.
And you can carry it with you
through the fair of events,
enjoy it as you go.
Just be sure to leave some room
for cotton candy moon
before you get in line
for the Ferris wheel of night.
